Fraxel Laser Treatment and Acne Scars, Sun Damage, and Wrinkles

Fraxel laser treatments offer patient exceptional skin resurfacing results while greatly reducing the number of side effects associated with past laser treatments. The new fraxel treatment causes the body to begin generating its own collagen. The fraxel laser was created to correct skin damaged by the sun and minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. Above and beyond repairing damage to the skin, fraxel laser treatments also make the texture and pigment of the skin more even.

With more standard laser skin treatments of the past, the surface skin was destroyed and a healing period of two weeks or more was a necessity. In contrast, the fraxel laser treatments create microthermal zones in the skin in order to replace the old skin cells with new ones. The epidermis is not completely destroyed so that the recovery period can be shortened a great deal. With the application of fraxel laser treatments, fine lines, age spots, and sun-damaged skin all improve. Finally, fraxel laser treatments work to eliminate acne regardless of what area of the body is treated.

In the office of Dr. Brian Joseph, Fraxel laser treatment times are generally around twenty to forty-five minutes in length. Patients undergoing fraxel treatments will receive treatments monthly for a period of about four to five months. Improvements can be anticipated in three months, but patients report seeing positive changes in as little as one month. One critical step during this stage is to avoid the sun in order to avoid pigmentation problems.

If you would like to take enjoy the wide range of cosmetic advantages of the fraxel laser, please contact Park Avenue Plastic Surgery, the office of Dr. Brian Joseph, at 800-828-7590 to schedule an appointment today.
